Marrons are marketed based on their size, which are divided into Big (less than 75 units per Kg) medium (until 90) and smalls (more than 90 units per Kg).
Marrons and Chestnuts can be buy directly on markets near the production zones in the harvest period, for example in Castel del Rio where in the first 3 sundays of October you can buy the famous Chestnuts of Castel del Rio that from years to now can boast the brand DOP.
The Chestnuts can be easily preservedfor some days and dont present damage for the movement when are transported, reason why online selling is becoming very important.
